Veteran-Focused Services

Meeting the Unique Needs of Veterans

At H动漫, our team of caring professionals understands the scope of having a military background and it is our privilege to honor that service with individualized care plans. Veterans often face challenges related to their service, including emotional and physical trauma, and our expert hospice team works to honor each veteran鈥檚 needs through their customized care.

Caring for Veterans

H动漫 Honors Those Who Served

Every veteran has a story marked by sacrifice, resilience, and courage鈥攁nd for that we are profoundly grateful. Beyond gratitude, these heroes deserve the highest level of care and support as they face an end-of-life illness. H动漫 aims to recognize the unique needs of veterans and their families. Here鈥檚 how some of our branches honor our veteran patients:

  • Assist veterans with Veteran Affairs (VA) benefit questions
  • Provide medical social workers to assist with psychological, emotional, and social challenges
  • Provide veteran-to-veteran volunteers (if available) who are expertly trained to connect with our veterans receiving hospice care through shared understanding and military experiences
  • Help veterans and families to obtain lost military medals/citation letters
  • Educate the community. We work hard to get the word out to veterans in the communities we serve, so they know how to gain access to resources and services near them.
  • Partner to provide donated handmade comfort items. Partnering with Quilts of Valor庐 and other community groups allows us to show our appreciation to the veterans we serve by providing donated handmade items like quilts that provide comfort during a veteran鈥檚 last days.
  • Commemorate Veterans Day. Veterans Day provides another opportunity to celebrate our veterans. Activities vary by branch, but often include collaborations with local skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, recognition ceremonies, and more.
  • Hold pinning ceremonies. We recognize veterans for their service with a pinning ceremony that鈥檚 attended by their loved ones鈥攁nd often, other service members in uniform. During the ceremony, we share details about their service, thank them for their service and award them with a certificate, plaque, and pin.

Our Hospice Care Team

We are passionate about giving veterans high-quality, compassionate care at the end of their lives and it is our privilege to honor that service with individualized care plans. Under the direction of a physician, the H动漫 team offers a caring atmosphere that addresses the physical, emotional, and physical well-being of our patients.

In addition to the core members listed and depending on each veteran鈥檚 needs, a patient's individualized care team may also include a hospice health aide, bereavement support services, and volunteers.

How Can You Help?

Volunteer

Through our partnership with WHV, we ensure our team has the knowledge and skills to provide the best possible care for our veterans. However, for us to continue providing this level of care, we also rely on volunteers who come from varied military backgrounds, have worked closely with someone who served in the military, or have served in the military themselves. Volunteers often support through different activities, including the following:

  • Assist with pinning ceremonies
  • Educate the community regarding hospice care for veterans
  • Join our Legacy Program so veterans can tell their stories
  • Provide support to veterans in hospice and their loved ones.
